Hello Everyone. My name is Fazil Munir (fmunir@uci.edu) and I am a law student at UC Davis, who likes likes Malaysia, soccer, community service, and creative nonfiction.

Here you will find a traditional Sunni perspective of Islam- a tradition that has produced some of the world’s deepest spirituality, sacred art, and exalted feelings throughout a rich, spectacular history. The additional fact that this religion includes almost one-fourth of the world’s people makes ignorance of this subject very unfortunate for anyone.

In addition you will find a study of the Ba Alawi, a lineage of Sufi scholars of Yemen, instrumental in the expansion of Islam in the Indian Ocean, historical articles, and a taste of everyday life (and not so everyday life) in Indonesia and Singapore from the perseptive of an American-born Muslim.

I hope that this site benefits as many people as possible. I have tried to make it both attractive and informative, but I freely admit that I am no expert at web design. Enjoy!
